Reunion in Prague - Day 5

Today was my last day in Prague. While Martin was at class, I went to visit the things still on my list.
Photobucket
Cementiri jueu antic. // Old Jewish Cemetery.
M'he passejat per l'antic barri jueu, he anat a veure la casa natal de Franz Kafka...

I just walked around the old Jewish quarter, I visited Franz Kafka's birthplace house...

Escultura de Franz Kafka.  // Franz Kafka sculpture.

But there was something I had to do before leaving. Going back to Old Town Square and buying myself a "trdelník". Simply the best way to say farewell to the city.

And to close the chapter of Prague, one last photo: Charles Bridge and Prague's Castle on the background.

Reunion in Prague - Day 4

Photobucket

After leaving Hélène and Claire-Marine at the airport, Martin and I went to Petrín since the sun was shinning. We walked up to the feet of Petrín Tower, or also known as the Eiffel Tower of Prague.

Photobucket

The view from the top of the tower are spectacular!

Late afternoon, we went to two Martin's friends flat for a Christmas party. We had hot wine and "turró de Xixona".

Reunion in Prague - Day 3

Today we slept in because we had to recover from last night's party. When we woke up, the streets were covered with a dangerous layer of ice, but this didn't stop us from going to the city center.
Photobucket
Placeta de l'illa de Kampa a Praga. // Small square at Kampa's island in Prague.

Our guide, Martin, needed to look at the map to took us to the following sight. The map didn't help that much though, so he asked to some people.
Photobucket
Hélène, Claire-Marine and Martin looking at the map.

And here is where he took us, to John's Lennon wall.
Photobucket

Then we walked the riberside of Vltava {today the other side} and found really special art...
Photobucket
I com no podia ser de cap altra manera, hem acabat a dalt del castell quan ja s'estava fent fosc i hem gaudit de les vistes de la ciutat il·luminada.

And as it couldn't be any other way, we ended up at the castle when it was starting to get dark and we enjoyed beautiful views of the city lights.
Photobucket

And since it was Hélène's and Claire-Marine's last night in Prague, we went to Blue Light bar and wrote our names on the wall {since it's a tradition at this place} so the next time in Prague we have to find them there.

Reunion in Prague - Day 2

Photobucket
// Our tram stop at Republic Square.

El segon dia a Praga ha estat asoleiat, però mooolt fred! Estàvem entre -5ºC i -10ºC. Un dels principals avantatges de visitar a un amic a la seva ciutat és que no t'has de preocupar de mirar el mapa per saber per on has d'anar.  {Tot i que a mi no em desagrada.}

The second day in Prague has been sunny but way too cold! Temperatures were between -5ºC and -10ºC. One of the main advantatges of visiting a friend at his city is that you don't have to worry use a map to know where to go. {Even though I don't dislike using maps.}
Photobucket
Camí cap a dalt de la muntanyeta. // On the way up the hill.

So, this morning Martin told us that he was going to take us to Vitkov hill from where we could see views of all the city. And so we did, and that views were pretty beautiful, but the best was... the snow!!!

Estàtua de Jan Zizka.  // Jan Zizka's statue.

Up the hill there's the National Monument and Jan Zizka's satute, which was a really communistic look.

Later, we went to the city center. We walked by the Dancing House, walked along the river Vltava, walked by the National Theatre, crossed the famous Charles Bridge and had czech food for lunch at a typical pub.

After lunch, Martin had to leave us to go take a French exam. In the meanwhile, us, the three girls, visited the Castle.

And at 6 p.m. we meet again with Martin to go ice skating at the ice circle. It was so much fun.
Photobucket
Martin, Claire-Marine, Hélène and me ice skating.

And we ended the night partying until early morning!!! To sump up, a really good day!!!

Reunion in Prague - Day 1

{Inicialment havia publicat les entrades relacionades amb el meu viatge a Praga al meu blog principal. La veritat és que no sé ben bé perquè, bé sí. Perquè simplement pensava fer un petit resum de cada un dels dies del viatge (l'ideal pel blog principal), però al final ha resultat ser entrades més aviat llargues i amb moltes fotos, és a dir, molt més adients pel blog de viatges. Així que aquí teniu el meu viatge a Praga amb Hélène, la Claire-Marine i en Martin.}

{Initially I posted the entries related to my trip to Prague on my main blog. The truth is I do not know exactly why, well yes. I thought I would just write a short summary of each day of the trip (ideal kind of entry for the main blog), but at the end they turned out to be rather long posts with lots of photos, which are much more suitable for my travel blog. So here you have my trip to Prague with Hélène, Claire-Marine and Martin.}

Avui al migdia he arribat a Praga.

Today, at early afternoon I arrived at Prague. At the airport came Martin, Hélène and Claire-Marine to pick me up. Our long weekend in Prague was about to start. I couldn't be more thrilled!
Photobucket

But it turns out that yes I could, because when walking outside and seeing ALL THE SNOW around us, I couldn't contain my joy!!!
I was jumping with excitement... literally. Everything was so beautiful.
Photobucket
Museu Nacional i Monument a Venceslau. // National Museum and Wenceslas Monument.

After leaving our luggage at Martin's apartment, we headed to the city center. We were all anxious to see Prague decorated for Christmas. We took the metro to Mustek and started our tour around the city center.

No me'l podia beure!

We continued walking at Wenceslau Square, looking at the small Christmas stands there. And to feel more integrated, we bought ourselves Svarák (mulled wine). Oh, and they serve it too hot!!! I couldn't drink it!
Photobucket
En Martin, l'Hélène i jo bevent Svarák. // Martin, Hélène and me drinking Svarák.

And finally we arrived at Old Town Square. I think I've never been in a square more beautiful and magical, specially during Christmas. What do you think?
Photobucket
As I said when I posted it on instagram: "Big Christmas tree and a Disney-like church, could you think of a more magical place?"

And at night we went to Chapeau Rouge, where by chance was "Latino Night" and we danced as in Dirty Dancing... Martin tried to teach me how to dance bachata with him, Claire-Marina was asked to dance with a guy and Hélène by his partner. I was such a different and fun night.
